HubSpot Pricing in South Africa: USD Billing and Budgeting

Written by Jarrud van der Merwe | Oct 13, 2026, 5:18:33 PM

Quick one, because I get asked this most weeks. "So what does HubSpot actually cost us?"

Depends where you're buying from. HubSpot now prices by region, and what catches people out usually isn't the seat price anyway. Region by region, then.

Does HubSpot's new pricing apply in South Africa?

Yes, for new portals. New EMEA portals, South Africa included, moved to seats and credits on 1 October 2026. You buy one edition, seats for the people who use it and a monthly pool of HubSpot Credits. Already on HubSpot? Your renewal terms depend on your contract. The full HubSpot pricing breakdown covers other regions, credits and capacity packs.

What the main seats cost

Edition Price per GTM seat per month (USD) Billing
Starter $20 (list price) See HubSpot pricing
Professional $100 on monthly billing (still a yearly commitment), or $90 if you pay annually Yearly commitment
Enterprise $175 Annual only

Seats only again. The full HubSpot pricing breakdown lists credits, capacity packs and marketing contacts.

South Africa: you pay in dollars, you budget in ZAR

South African customers are usually billed in US dollars. HubSpot doesn't publish a rand price list, so your bank converts each payment at its own rate when it goes through. HubSpot sets the dollar price. The rand cost is whatever the exchange rate says it is that day.

I've watched finance teams hunt for a "mistake" on an invoice that was just the rand having a week.

You can't fix the rand cost of a dollar invoice. You can plan for it, though.

What I'd do:

  • Start in dollars. Seats per edition, times the dollar seat price.
  • Add credits and packs before you convert anything. They sit on top of the seat cost, and they're the bit people forget.
  • Convert at your bank's rate today, then add a buffer for the rand moving over the year. Agree the size of that buffer with finance, not with me.
  • Know what your commitment fixes. The term you commit to fixes the dollar price for that term. It doesn't fix the rand cost.
  • Recheck seats, credits and the rate before each renewal.

On VAT: HubSpot adds tax based on your company address and local tax law (source: HubSpot billing FAQ). Check your invoice or ask your accountant how VAT applies to your business. I'm an engineer, not your accountant, so that's as far as I'll go on tax.

Onboarding: who you actually pay, and what you get

HubSpot requires Professional accounts to go through an approved onboarding process. Buy directly from HubSpot and you pay HubSpot for that onboarding, which is more of a stepped guide. Buy through a partner and you get guided onboarding instead: architects and business consultants unpack your full requirements and set the platform up for how your business actually works, not a generic setup.

When Muloo onboards you, you pay Muloo for onboarding, not a separate HubSpot onboarding fee.

In South Africa, you work with a local SA team, in SAST hours.

We're a technical HubSpot partner, and we don't resell licences. We get paid for the work, not the software. So I've got no reason to push you up an edition, and I'll tell you when you don't need to upgrade.
